A former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister and a bigwig in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin has called for the head of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr David Asante Apeatu.

According to him, the police chief must take full responsibility for the whereabouts of the three girls who have gone missing in the Western Regional Capital, Takoradi for a couple of months now.

The Ghana Police Service has said it has been working tirelessly to locate the girls and reunite them with their families after weeks of unrelenting pressure from the families of the victims and the general public.

Director-General of the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Dankwah is currently suffering a litany of attacks after she called a press conference to say, “we know where the girls are"

Many Ghanaians have asked her to resign, but Joseph Yammin believes that the CID Boss must be left alone and the pressure for resignation turned on the IGP, if any official has to lose their job over this matter.

In an exclusive interview he granted to MyNewsGh.com, he said, “the IGP must be sacked by the President for his deafening silence on the issue; he has failed totally since he took the office”.

He also say the President as Head of National Security must “resign” after sacking the IGP, because he has also “failed to guarantee” the safety of Ghanaians.
