More Ministerial appointments

Accra, July 18, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday submitted the next list of Ministerial portfolios to Parliament for vetting and approval.
A statement signed by Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani, the Chief of Staff named the following as the nominees:

  • Mr Abraham Osei Aidoo, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs
  • Ms Esther Obeng Dapaah, Minister of Lands, Forestry and Mines
  • Mr Godfred T. Boyon as the Minister of State at the Ministry of Transport.
Four Deputy Ministers, namely Mr Kenwood Nuworsu, Manpower, Youth and Employment; Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw, Tourism and Diaspora Relations; Ms Vicky Bright, Communications and Reverend Dr. Akwasi Owusu-Bi, Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and PSI were also nominated.

Deputy Regional Ministers were Mr Samuel K. Obodai, Central Region; Mr Ofosu Asamoah, Eastern Region; Mrs Agnes A. Chigabatia, Upper East Region and Mrs Winifred Asibi Dy-Yakah, Upper West Region.
The statement indicated that the President performed this as a constitutional mandate.
