Member of parliament for Asunafo South Constituency and Former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. Eric OPoku has hinted that his Mitsubishi L200 double cabin pickup vehicle which was seized by Abronye's taskforce has been returned to him.

It would be recalled that, the police in the Asunafo South District during a police patrol on the Bibiani Kukuom road intercepted an L200 Mitsubishi vehicle with registration number GE 9934-16 belonging to Mr. Eric Opoku which was being driven by his aide Prince Nyarko after Brong Ahafo youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Barfo popularly known as Abronye DC alleged that Eric Opoku has stolen state car.

Confirming the latest development on Maakye with Akwasi Boateng on Hot93.9fm, Prince Nyarko indicated that the vehicle was returned because the police did not find any evidence to prove Abronye's allegation.

He explained that "the police invited us to submit documents which indicates that the car belongs to Hon. Eric Opoku. Following all the instructions of the police, we submitted all the documents including the receipts which proves that the car is not for the state."

According to him, the police did all their checks with the Ghana Revenue Authority to ascertain that the vehicle is not state property "but due to Abronye's claims that, Hon Eric Opoku purchased his car from a company that supplies vehicles to the state only, they needed to check with the company in order to rule out all doubts and after their checks with the company, it proved that Hon Eric Opoku bought the car genuinely."

He expressed his misgivings at "the obsession of Abronye who is determined to arrest people for supposedly stealing state cars without any evidence to back his allegations which at the end ruins the person's reputation"

When asked if the Hon Member of Parliament will file a suit against Abronye, Prince Nyarko said "well, currently, he has not said anything about filing a suit but knowing Hon Eric Opoku, he is the kind who would always say let's leave it in the hands of God. So we leave Abronye in the hands of God."
