The brother of the woman involved in the suspension of Assin Central NDC parliamentary candidate Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, Abdallah Ibrahim, has clarified that his sister is single and not married, contrary to rumors.

In an interview on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, on Monday, July 1, 2024, Ibrahim asserted that his sister, who was accused of cheating on her husband, is not married. He sees the controversy as a plot to damage their family's reputation.

Nurein Shaibu Migyimah has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with the wife of the NDC constituency Secretary, Sadique Broni, which led to his suspension by the regional party executives.

However, Ibrahim clarified that while his sister was previously married to Sadique Broni, their marriage was dissolved in 2021. He also denied allegations that his sister had a child with Migyimah, stating she has never been pregnant or given birth.

It was claimed that the parliamentary candidate had rented a place for the woman in Kasoa, Awutu Senya East municipality, but Ibrahim confirmed she lives in Assin Fosu, Assin Central municipality.

Ibrahim explained that the marriage between his sister and Mr. Broni was invalid due to deceit. The families belonged to different sects in Islam, and Mr. Broni had promised to convert to his wife's sect, but it was later discovered that he had lied about his conversion.

He also revealed that his sister never loved Mr. Broni and was forced into the marriage by their mother.

Additionally, Mr. Broni did not provide financial support to his wife, leading her into debt, and he had issues with impotence and low sperm count, for which they sought medical help.

Despite the deception, the families officially ended the marriage after Mr. Broni repeatedly threatened suicide when his wife expressed a desire to leave.

Ibrahim advised his sister to leave the house for her safety, fearing that Mr. Broni might harm her or himself.

He warned the NDC constituency executives to keep his family out of their disputes, emphasizing that there is no marriage between the secretary and his sister.
