The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared itself the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

At a press conference, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the party's National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, emphasised that their internal collation results clearly show that Ghanaians have rejected the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"From the results we have seen so far from our internal collation, it is very clear that Ghanaians have rejected eight years of corruption, eight years of state capture, eight years of wastage, eight years of nepotism, eight years of economic mismanagement, eight years of insensitivity to power, and eight years of incompetence. It is very clear that the people of Ghana have voted overwhelmingly for change," Gyamfi stated.

He also urged the Electoral Commission to expedite the collation process, saying, "What we want is for the Electoral Commission to fast-track the collation process."

The 2024 elections was held across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful.

Pockets of violence have, however, been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.

The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
