NDC captures all three Nzema parliamentary seats

All the three parliamentary seats in the entire Nzema land of the Western Region now belong to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

NDC activists were jubilant following the declaration of results from the December 07 Parliamentary election held last Friday in the three constituencies.

In the Ellembelle Constituency where the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah hails from, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah retained his seat for a second time.

In the Evalue-Gwira Constituency, the New Patriotic Party’s Catherine Afeku lost to the NDC candidate, Mr Kwaku Kesse Tanekyi, while in the Jomoro Constituency, Miss Samia Yaaba Nkrumah of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) lost to the NDC candidate, Mr Francis Anaman.

Later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Kofi Buah, Deputy Minister of Energy, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ellembelle for appreciating his untiring efforts to develop the area.

According to him, as the home of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, he does not get tired in his development agenda as a tribute to him, adding; "the Better Ghana Agenda seems to be catching up with indigenes of the Nzema area".

He said the people in Evalue-Gwira and Jomoro have realised the efforts of the NDC to invest in the people especially in Ellembelle and have decided to vote for NDC Parliamentary candidates to better their living conditions.

Mr Buah said he had outlined a number of interventions to further improve the living conditions of his constituents and urged them to always rally behind the NDC for accelerated development.

He told the GNA that he knew the people were going to renew his mandate due to the development he had brought to the area within the last four years and promised to interact with the people, learn their problems at first hand, and find solutions to them.
