Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo Addo has outlined a comprehensive industrialization agenda which will make Ghana the economic powerhouse in Africa if voted into power.
At the core of this is the value-addition to raw materials including food produce and minerals.
Speaking to a section of industry and business people in Tarkwah on Tuesday, Nana Addo chastised the NDC government for doing little to revamp the manufacturing industry to create jobs for the people.
He said the contribution of the Ghana manufacturing industry to the economy has seen a decline since former President Kufour left office.
He cited what he calls the dwindling fortunes of the Pharmaceutical Industry to buttress his point.
“Let us take the pharmaceutical industry for example up until recently we were doing quite well in the sector, now our pharmaceutical companies are struggling with this introduction of measures that are counterproductive to the growth of the local industry”.
