Former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Francis Kpegah, was influenced by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to accuse Nana Akufo-Addo of impersonating retired lawyer William Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, according to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Reacting to the press release issued by Justice Kpegah, the former Supreme Court Judge, Kwamena Duncan, a member of the communication team of the NPP, says the "man cannot be acting on his own - he is being manipulated. This cannot be the doings and voice of Justice Kpegah".
Justice Kpegah has called on the 2012 flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Danquah, to enter appearance and file a defence to the claim of impersonation he [Kpegah] has brought against him in court instead of using his paid agents and assigns to vilify him in the media.
Justice Kpegah is suing Nana Akufo-Addo for holding himself as a lawyer when his name was not on the roll of lawyers in Ghana. According to him, Nana Addo is impersonating a retired lawyer, William Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
Contributing to panel discussions on Peace FM’s premium morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Kwamena Duncan accused the NDC of hiding behind Justice Kpegah to smear the name and reputation of Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the NPP.
“This cannot be the voice of Justice Kpegah; someone in NDC is just trying to hide behind him to create mischief. There must be a purpose for this. They are using him; I smell an umbrella. If you put pieces together, it is the NDC. They are just trying to play the man," he insisted.
He described Justice Kpegah's attitude as a calculated attempt by the NDC to distort what is going on at the Supreme Court.
“If you listen to them (NDC), they just go about the same thing; that Nana should go to court and end the issue once and for all. This is a calculated attempt by the NDC as a party; I see a grand scheme, grand plan by the NDC through justice Kpegah. He doesn’t have control of himself,” he added.
