NDC must win to continue projects in Nzema - Nzema Chief

The Chief of Tikobo No. 2 Nana Arvo Nwiah V, has heaped praises on the Mahama led government for the “numerous” developmental projects ongoing in the area.

Nana Arvo Nwiah V was speaking during a visit of the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Matilda Amissah -Arthur, to interact with the chiefs and people of Tikobo No 2 in the Jomoro District of the Western region.

The chief said the NDC led administration has "given the area its fair share of the national cake”.

He further stated that he’s a witness to the massive developmental projects in Ghana and Nzema and hopes and prays that the NDC wins to continue with its developmental projects in the area.

Nana Arvo Nwiah V, however, appealed to the government to improve the road network in the area and an additional transformer to distribute electricity to nearby villages, together with teaching and learning material for the children.

He praised Mrs. Amissah-Arthur for her several donations to help the less privileged in society over the years and helping children in the country to advance social values and adopt reading as a habits.

On her part Mrs. Amissah-Arthur showed her love once again by donating laptops to some Headteachers in the area, together with drinks, solar lamps and an undisclosed amount of money to the chief and promised to bring in more educational materials.

The wife of the Vice President who has been at the forefront of providing social services for deprived communities, especially children in the area of Education said she believes that a reading nation is an informed nation.

The Second Lady said, “we must make constant effort at seeing that children, not only enroll, but also read and complete school and become future leaders. so the need to help the children in the country to advance social values and adopt reading as a habit for youth of the country.”

She said her objective is to bridge the gap between the fortunate and unfortunate, especially in the area of education.

She appealed to people of the Western region not to allow partisan politics to reduce the peaceful communal cohesion in the area into hatred, acrimony and conflicts since we all have one Ghana.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur said what is key in the region is uniting for development, since the region has a lot of natural resources that can be tapped when they come together as one and focus on the development of the region.
