NDC's 1.5m votes target is a joke - Lawyer

A Private Legal Practitioner Kwame Adofo has described as insane projections by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to garner 1.5 million votes in the Ashanti region, regarded stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, it’s a talk shop propagated by members of NDC to hit 1.5million votes in the region, saying it’s an unrealistic target for the party.

The NDC which has four seats in the region is also envisaging to grab other seats of the NPP to raise it to 13.

He said it is mathematically impossible for the party to achieve their target, saying there is no way the NDC could win 32,000 votes in each constituency, describing it as fanciful talks.

He wondered if members of NDC will have angels on the register to vote for them, saying the only place the party can get more votes is the Asawase constituency.

‘Their target is unrealistic, totally unrealistic, unless they are going to get some angels from heaven whose names are not on the register to vote for them, I cannot see it happen. It’s totally insane for anybody to contemplate that they can get anywhere near there, it will never happen and can never happen, it’s actually a joke, I think they want to make fun, they are living in delusional world,’ he stated.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast show hosted by Lantam Papanko, Lawyer Adofo said the NDC is only tickling itself of wining massively in the region and that it’s just one of those hot air they are blowing.

‘I must say even the NDC themselves don’t believe that the target is possible, its mathematically impossible for the NDC and this is why, if you believe in maths and say one plus one is equals to four, then clearly you don’t even know maths, because one plus one is definitely two, mathematically it’s impossible for the NDC to make 1.5 million votes in Ashanti region.

It’s impossible and this is why there are 47 constituencies in the Ashanti region, if you divide 1.5 million votes by 47 constituencies it means, the NDC must get 32,000 votes in every constituency, it’s very simple for them to be able to get 1.5 million votes, it means they have to get 32,000 votes in every constituency, do you think NDC can get 32,000 votes in Bantama, Nhyiaeso, or Kwadaso constituencies, look at Atwima Kwanwoma, so there is no way the NDC can make such impact, so it’s just one of those far-fetched and fanciful talks, there is no way they can even get 1million votes, if you divide 1million votes by 47 constituencies, you will get 21,000 votes, where is the NDC going to get that in every constituency, they are even embarrassed to say they are NDC in Nhyiaeso,’ he said.

He called on Ghanaians to vote the NDC out of power and vote massively for the Flagbearer of NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP to win power.

He further called on NPP members to be vigilant on the election day.

‘Let’s tell them (NDC) they are just making noise, this time we are going to watch you guys closely,’ he said.
