NDC’s politicization of Mahama’s death driven by frustration - NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described the press conference held by opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) accusing President Akufo-Addo and government for the gruesome murder of Captain Maxwell Mahama as “frustrating driven”.

“They [NDC] are frustrating driven politicians who always indulge in frustration driven press conferences. And let’s ignore them…Let’s threat them with the contempt they deserve,” NPP’s Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen said.

A press conference addressed by NDC General Secretary Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia held President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo responsible for the murder of Captain Maxwell Mahama murdered at Denkyira-Boase in the Central Region by residents.

According to NDC, ever since NPP took over office, the country has not known peace and therefore called President Akufo-Addo to resign from office since he cannot be trusted to protect the citizenry.

But responding to claims on Nhyria FM in Kumasi , the outspoken Deputy General Secretary took on the leadership of NDC for what he described as their needless and baseless press conferences ostensibly to divert attention of the government.

“Asiedu Nketia, Koku Anyidoho and other NDC guys should know better and stop their useless politics. They have been in government before and now in opposition so they should keep mute to watch us”.

“My party is in power. We are ruling. …Ghanaians have voted for us to bring them better governance so shut up and stop your propaganda”

Meanwhile all seven suspects including William Baah the assembly member, William Baah Bismark Donkor, Phillip Badu, Kofi Nyame, Anthony Amoah and Kofi Badu have however been remanded into prisons custody by a Magistrate Court in Cape Coast on June 1, 2016 to allow investigators to delve deeper into the case.

Police prosecutors led by. ASP Avornyo however, told the court presided by Rita Amonyiwaa Edusah the charge is provisional and more could be added to it after police’s investigations.

The police has however appealed to the public to volunteer information about the murder. Persons with any information have been asked to report to the nearest station or call the Police on 18555 (MTN and Vodafone), 0302-773906, 0302787373 or 191 (all networks).
