The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says may implement suggestions and recommendations of the survey conducted by the University of Ghana Political Science Department.

“We find it useful and we will implement some suggestions and recommendations coming out”, Deputy General Secretary in charge of operations, Koku Anyidoho revealed.

“We are not throwing it into a dustbin. We find it very useful and we thank University of Ghana for that”, he spoke on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM’s morning show hosted by Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Thursday.

The NDC Deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidohu said the party is strengthening its structures and dealing with all outstanding issues before the next poll.

Mr Anyidohu was reacting to a University of Ghana Political Science Department survey that revealed about 52.7 percent of the people interviewed will vote to maintain the president after one year in office.

The poll conducted from December 9 – 20, 2017 also disclosed about 33.1 percent of the 5,000 respondents say they will vote for the NDC.

But Mr Anyidohu described the survey period as inadequate to enable the researchers to arrive at a convincing report.

The survey conducted has revealed that 58% of voters believe that former President John Dramani Mahama, should lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections.

Head of the Political Science Department, of the University of Ghana, Dr. Bossman Asare, who made this revelation while presenting the survey findings, said : “We wanted to find out who the voters think should lead the party [NDC] in 2020, and overwhelmingly 58% of the candidates we interviewed said they believed Mr. Mahama will become the candidate and a number of them generally said they wanted Mr. Mahama to come”.

“It means when you look at the graph, some people were getting 2 percent. Prof Alabi, Ricketts Hagan, Spio Grabrah, I think all of them were getting less than 7% so we were all surprised”, he stated.
