In the process of choosing the next Presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) after their woeful defeat in the 2016 elections, the National Organizer of the party, Kofi Adams believes former President Mahama is the best candidate to reclaim power for the party.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, he reiterated that “if NDC is serious in the 2020 elections we should rally round President Mahama, and I’m not saying nobody should contest him or aspire for the highest position, but if we are thinking of the well being of the party and want victory in 2020 elections, we have no other place to look at than Mahama”.

“ . . I don’t care who insults me or says what, I will tell the truth that if President Mahama will contest again as NDC Flagbearer, we have no other place to look at. If he doesn’t contest it will be difficult for us but still we will win, but if he presents himself, it will be an easier battle for us in the 2020 election than any other person,” Kofi Adams assured.

According to Kofi Adams, he will always recommend President John Mahama to the NDC at any given moment regardless of his position as the party’s National Organizer who is supposed to be neutral.

He added that as National Organizer of the NDC, he has all the information on the ground to know the interest of the party and to conclude that President John Dramani Mahama is the only candidate who can win power easily for the party.

“I will say it again that if NDC wants power, we should remain focus and rally round President John Dramani Mahama and move forward. I’m not stopping anybody from contesting him but I am the National Organizer and I have gone round and seen the interest on the ground and I know what is good for the party and so I will not sit and keep quiet because of my position as National Organizer,” he stated.
