A group of members of the Kumasi based pro-ruling NPP Vigilante group, Delta Force has officially rendered an unqualified apology to President Nana Akufo-Addo for the acts of indiscipline.

The group led by its ‘Commander’ Kwadwo Bamba traveled to Accra Thursday to ask the Chairman of the party’s Disciplinary Committee, CK Tedam, Acting General Secretary, John Boadu and National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku to lead them to apologize to President Akufo Addo for their reprehensible behaviour and vowed not to repeat same.

A group of stoutly built members of Delta Force, stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council last Friday to stop one Mr George Adjei, appointed as the Regional Security Coordinator from working and manhandled him.

They claimed they couldn’t work with him because he is not a native of the Ashanti Region. It took the timely intervention of the police to save the situation and restore law and order.

The angry men had earlier destroyed some office equipment in their bid to drive out Mr Agyei.

Their action was roundly condemned by a large section of the public who called for their arrest. Less than 24 hours after the act, the leader of the group Kwadwo Bamba was arrested by the Police.

Other members were subsequently arrested and charged for the offence of conspiracy to assault and assaulting a public officer and causing unlawful damage.

In an exclusive interview with Kasapa FM’s Akwasi Nsiah, Kwadwo Bamba stated that they needed to show how remorseful they were hence drove all the way to the capital to render their sincere apology.

“Though we begged the President on radio to forgive us of our wrongoing soon after the unfortunate incident, we thought it wise to come before the President to render an unqualified apology to him for the embarrasment our action caused him and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). We are rendering an apology to the Ashanti Regional Minister, the Mayor of Kumasi and any Ghanaian who was appalled by our act of indiscipline.”

He added: “We’re really ashamed by what happened and have vowed never to repeat such reprehensible behaviour. We’re ready to work with anybody who is sent here as the Security Coordinator including Mr George Agyei who we attacked.“
