The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Sammy Gyamfi says the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] has ‘absolutely’ nothing to offer Ghanaians than “lies”.
According to him, claims that the John Mahama-led administration inflated the cost of projects during its tenure are nothing but falsehood.
His comment was in responses to NPP’s General Secretary, John Boadu’s press conference in Accra on Sunday, chastising the former administration for mismanaging the economy and leaving it a Highly-Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) - a reason it entered into a programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He also alleged that former President Mahama spent some unbudgeted GH?4 billion in a desperate attempt to win the 2012 election.
Mr Boadu again mentioned RLG laptops that were paid for but never got to the students as one of the needless expenditure the previous administration went into.
But, Sammy Gyamfi in a press conference noted that the NPP is rather resorting to lies than focusing on their ‘ghost’ achievements.
“This government is now serving Ghanaians with cheap empty rhetoric. The NPP's lies will surely lead them into their grave in 2020,” he said.
