NPP using Rawlings to nail NDC in opposition for good - Major (rtd) Boakye-Gyan

Former President Jerry John Rawlings is being used as a conduit by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to destroy National Democratic Congress (NDC), the very party he formed

According to Major (rtd) Kwadwo Boakye Gyan, the NPP government has adopted heinous and clandestine plans to use the NDC founder against other members of the party hence offering him a post as sanitation ambassador.

“He acceptance of sanitation ambassador from the government indicates the NPP is using him to destroy his own party”, the ex-military officer alleged.

“He is our founder and we are committed to improve the common welfare of the citizenry in a complete and progressive agenda contrary to NPP’s conservative agenda”, he said

“I do not think that it was right for him to accept it”, Major Boakye Gyan stated on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show.

The Ex-service man voiced out his opinion at the time two member of the party; Evans Amankwah and Abigail Elom Mensah have petitioned for removal of the founder from the party and a former another leading member and former Attorney General, Martin Amidu.

According to the petition, the two have always associated themselves to their opponent political party, NPP and have accused the NDC of being corrupt.

They are of the view that their actions and inactions caused the party’s hefty defeat in the 2016 hence, they must be removed from the party to serve as deterrent to others who may not like to use internal mechanism to address issues.

However, commenting on the development, Major (rtd) Boakye Gyan stated the founder contradicted himself therefore it is an indictment on him to have accepted any position from government

“That is completely wrong. ..It cannot happen in any political party in the world “, he stated calling leadership to quit given negative information to press.
