The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is not ‘worried’ about Nana Akufo-Addo’s decision to contest as the flagbearer and possible presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for 2016.
The 2012 presidential candidate for the NPP on Thursday declared his intention to contest the party’s primaries for the presidential ticket.
According to him, he decided to contest because he could not ignore several calls from Ghanaians for him to lead the party again. However, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organiser of the NDC says inasmuch as he admires Nana Addo’s courage and determination to become president of this country, ‘he will lose again’.
He said the news did not come to him as a surprise and added “we were even praying for him to come again”.
“I like his courage and determination never to give up until he becomes president, but that will not deter us. The value is the same…he is coming to lose for the third time and so we are not perturbed. We were even praying for him to contest,” Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan stated in an interview on Peace FM.
