The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has challenged Tertiary institutions in Ghana to introduce entrepreneurial programs that will produce graduates with vocational and technical skills.

According to the Asante King, this will equip graduates in Ghana to set up their own businesses after graduation.

He also questioned the relevance of sociology and other courses at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi saying the university was established for the study of science.

Otumfuo expressed these concerns while addressing the first congregation and inaugural ceremony of Christ Apostolic University College in Kumasi.

He urged the graduates to demonstrate commitment in any institution they find themselves as employees.

The Asantehene also appealed to private tertiary institutions in the country to make their programs accessible and affordable to create opportunities for many people to educate themselves.

He also asked government to support private universities by scrapping tax and providing subventions to enable them expand their facilities to admit more students.
