The General Overseer of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim on Wednesday experienced night life in the cells of the Striking Force Unit of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.

It is the second time in a row that the preacher experienced night life in Police custody following his arrest by the men and women in black uniform on Tuesday.

Counsel for Obinim, Samuel Atta Akyea who disclosed this in an interaction with Accra-based Okay FM Thursday said he could not believe why the Police are subjecting his client to such an ordeal.

“They have sent him to a place which is even worse than Nima Police Station. In fact, he’s been sent to the Striking Force where hardened criminals are sent”, he noted.

According to him, Obinim has denied knowing the complainant, Bismarck Kusi, who lodged the fraud case against him.

He said if you look at the phase value of the case, it could be best described as ‘Ananse story’ since the Police have not able to establish fraud charge against him.

“If we don’t change the way we do our Police investigations, we are doomed”, he noted.

The controversial Pastor on Tuesday evening could not enjoy his luxurious bed in his plush home, as he found himself sleeping in the ‘discomfort able’ cells of the Nima police station in Accra.

His arrest drew a crowd of his church members who stayed overnight at the police station urging the release of their spiritual father and leader.

Bishop Obinim was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department for an alleged complicity in a fraudulent case.

He was reported to the Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police by a Gold Dealer for defrauding him of an amount of GH?11. 6 million.

In an exclusive interview with Kasapa News, CID PRO, ASP Benefo Darkwah said the Gold Dealer had consulted a Fetish Priest (name only given as Dzakpasu) in November of 2015, on a family gold business deal that had GH?780, 000 in proceeds and he wanted some deity rights done over the said amount.

Subsequently, the Fetish Priest failed to help out. The gold dealer then reached out to Obinim to help him retrieve the said amount from the Fetish Priest, spiritually.

Obinim, Darkwah added, asked the Gold Dealer to part ways with an extra GH?11.6 million being remaining sum from the sale of the family gold treasures, if he is to help him out. He failed to work magic for him afterwards, leading to a complaint being lodged for his subsequent arrest today.

Darkwah told Kasapa News, the CID will also hand him over to the DOVVSU of the Ghana Police concerning the other case in which he has been captured on tape beating two teen members of his church.
