Accra, May 2, GNA - Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, outgoing Minister of Education and Sports, on Tuesday said he remained committed to New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Government, the recent Cabinet reshuffle, which saw him losing his ministerial portfolio, notwithstanding. He said he accepted the recent Cabinet reshuffle and described it as routine modern democratic process of a President exercising his constitutional power.
"As a democrat I accept the recent reshuffle and will assiduously apply myself. My loyalty to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and our government is unalloyed," he said in a statement issued in Accra.
"The reshuffle should not be allowed to fracture and become a stumbling block to the Party...the unity and solidarity of the Party is of paramount importance and nothing should be allowed to undermine it," he said. Mr Osafo-Maafo, who was among six Ministers of State, who lost their portfolios in the April 29 Cabinet reshuffle urged NPP supporters to forge ahead in unity for electoral victory in Election 2008. "Stand firm in your loyalty and commitment to the Party to ensure victory for our Party in 2008. The most important legacy we can leave to the nation is for NPP to succeed itself in 2008. Remember, united we stand, divided we fall."Accra, May 2, GNA - Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, outgoing Minister of Education and Sports, on Tuesday said he remained committed to New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Government, the recent Cabinet reshuffle, which saw him losing his ministerial portfolio, notwithstanding.
