The Central University established by International Central Gospel Church founder Dr Mensa Otabil is not collapsing, president of the school, Professor Bill Puplampo, has said.
His comments follow recent rumours circulating on social media that the university was in a crisis and facing imminent closure.
The dire situation, according to the reports, manifests in the unavailability of lights, furniture and water in lecture halls.
However, Prof Puplampu told Accra-based Citi FM on Wednesday, 14 November 2018, said the school was nowhere close to collapsing.
Professor Puplampo said: “Firstly, we are not on the verge of collapse, this business of collapse has been around the social media and underhand media space for quite a while.
“Really, anybody knows that my inaugural lecture at the University of Ghana three years ago or two years ago, I made it clear that institutions that go down, there are few of four different things to look at: Government challenges, technology challenges, people challenges, clientele challenges. We don’t have clientele challenges, we don’t have technology challenges and we don’t have government challenges”.
