The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben Brakwa, Mr. P.C. Ofori has lost his position as the Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances and that of the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF).

The MP said his troubles started when he wrote to all the Ministers to render account on how they utilized the monies they accessed from the Poverty Alleviation Fund.

Mr. Ofori said this in an interview with the Enquirer in Parliament. He said as Chairman of the Committee, it was his responsibility to ensure judicious utilization of the fund. For the past three years, billions of cedis were disbursed among the ministers, but they refused to account for it, he said.

"After I wrote to all of them to render account on how these monies were used, they began to question my authority, the next thing I knew was that I have been replaced as the committee chairman, he said.
