Akani Adams, National Treasurer for the People
Information reaching Atinkaonline indicates that the National Treasurer for the People’s National Convention (PNC), Akani Adams, has been arrested for allegedly embezzling party funds to the tune of GHc800,000.
Mr Akani was arrested on Wednesday Morning at the party’s headquarters at Kotobabi. He is currently being held at the Accra Central police Station as investigations continue.
An assistant to the party’s General Secretary, Mohammed Haruna, confirmed the news in an interview with Atinka News, adding that Adams was arrested for failing to account for monies donated to the party by well-wishers .
Haruna further revealed that the National Executive Committee of the party (NEC), has on countless occasions advised Adams to refund the monies but has so far failed to heed to the calls,
According to him, the party had no option than to report him to the police .
