This year's golden Jubilee anniversary celebrations will forever be remembered by most people in the Brong Ahafo Region as one of the most beautiful and successful celebrations since the day of the declaration of independence.

Those who thronged the 4 billion cedis newly completed golden jubilee ceremonial grounds in Sunyani had the opportunity of witnessing a splendid occasion and would attest to the fact that the Ghana at 50 celebrations can be rated next to the one on independence day itself in terms of beauty and success.

The unity that characterized the event was overwhelming as Ghanaians of all walks of life irrespective of one's party affiliations were clad in the national colours.

Almost every car had a national flag flying while others hoisted theirs on buildings.

Businesses activities in the municipality came almost to a halt as everyone headed to the parade grounds.

The Sunyani-Kumasi trunk road also suffered its toll as traffic and pedestrians piled up causing traffic jam.

The day was marked with cultural and gymnastics display as well as poetry recital as the visibly over-excited crowd cheered and danced. The security agencies were able to provide adequate security making the event incident free.
