Energy Minister John Peter Amewu has been unveiled as the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Hohoe Constituency.

The acclamation of Mr. Amewu who is making his third attempt to represent the people of Hohoe in Parliament was done at an extraordinary constituency conference at the Old Volta Cinema in Hohoe.

The occasion was witnessed by party delegates and supporters.

“Mr Amewu is not new to any of you here. We are all witnesses to the good works he is doing in Hohoe and its environs. So it will only be prudent for us to send him to Parliament to continue these good works,” said Makafui Woanyah, Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP.

On his part, Amewu who contested in 2004 and 2008 urged the people of Hohoe to give him the nod to represent them in parliament. He was of the greatest conviction that the constituency which is known to be a strong hold of the opposition National Democratic Congress, will be the NPP’s come 2020.

“The moral is high and I believe that the good Lord who started this in me, shall surely accomplish it to a successful end,” he noted.

Born in Wli Todzi, Hohoe district of the Volta region, Amewu holds an MBA (Finance) from University of Ghana. He also has a Post Graduate Degree (Executive MBA in International Energy Industry Management), and Masters in Petroleum Law and Policy from University of Dundee (UK).
