Hassan Ayariga has stated that Ghana can boast of only peace and tranquility after 56 years of independence and blames the underdevelopment of the county on selfish politicians.
The PNC 2012 presidential candidate in an interview with Adom FM said over politicization of national issues had been a major obstacle in the development of the country.
Mr Ayariga said the only way to gain economic freedom is when politicians become selfless and are devoted to move the nation forward.
In his view, if the NPP which ruled the country for eight years had tackled health and the NDC continues to address all the problems in the educational sector- and it continues like that Ghana will advance.
According to him, celebrating 56 years with electricity, water crisis amidst gas shortages is most unfortunate.
President Mahama in his Independence Day address underscored the need for Ghanaians to be patriotic to accelerate Ghana’s development.
He pledged his administration’s commitment to solving the power, water and fuel crisis in the shortest possible time.
Though Hassan Ayariga blames politicians for the problems of the country, he expressed his delight at what President Mahama’s resolve to advance development in the country as indicated in his address.
