Arsenal players celebrated Trossard's winner against West Ham
English side Arsenal’s narrow victory over West Ham United has sparked widespread criticisms from football fans on social media, following a controversial foul incident during the game.
Arsenal’s 1-0 win in the Premier League on May 10, 2026, was marked by a disputed moment involving foul play during a corner kick.
In a keenly contested match, Leandro Trossard gave the Gunners the lead in the 83rd minute, boosting their title challenge and keeping them on track.

However, in the dying moments, West Ham won a corner kick. The ball came off Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya’s hand and fell to Callum Wilson, who fired it into the net.
Complaints were lodged by Arsenal players, and after an extensive review, referee Chris Kavanagh ruled out the goal, citing a foul by Pablo Fornals on Raya, whose arm was obstructed while attempting to save the ball.
Some aggrieved fans took to social media to lambast referee Kavanagh for disallowing the goal, arguing that similar fouls committed by Arsenal players in previous matches were overlooked.
They claimed that Fornals’ contact with Raya was not strong enough to obstruct the goalkeeper, who even managed to get a touch on the ball, and therefore the incident should not have been deemed a foul.
Others criticised the Premier League, alleging a deliberate attempt to hand Arsenal the title through officiating decisions, describing the incident as “robbery and corruption.”
Meanwhile, some social media users applauded the referee for making a brave decision to disallow the goal, insisting that the incident was a clear foul that obstructed Raya before the ball crossed the line.

Spurs getting bailed out
Big 6 bias
The foul is clear, Pablo doesn't allow Raya to freely move.... but why???? Because Trossard is literally TACKLING Pablo, completely oblivious to the ball, (his back to it), just holding Pablo that trying to go for the ball, fouls Raya. First foul here... Trossard!!!

We all know VAR is inconsistent but if this had happened at the other end Arsenal haters and West Ham fans would have been happy. What’s done is done!
