President John Dramani Mahama is set deliver the keynote address at the highly anticipated Africa Energy Technology Conference (AETC) 2025, which is set to take place in Accra from May 27 to 29, 2025.

The event, which aims to redefine Africa’s energy landscape, will gather top global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the future of energy technology and investment on the continent.

President Mahama’s participation underscores Ghana’s commitment to advancing energy innovation and sustainable development.

His keynote address is expected to highlight transformative strategies for financing Africa’s energy growth, strengthening energy security, and expanding renewable energy infrastructure.

As a leading advocate for energy reform and investment, the President's insights will set the tone for pivotal discussions on policy, regional cooperation, and cutting-edge technological advancements.

Under the theme “INNOVATE, INVEST, IMPLEMENT: REVOLUTIONIZED FINANCING FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY GROWTH IN AFRICA,” AETC 2025 will serve as a platform for unveiling disruptive energy solutions and forging strategic partnerships that will accelerate Africa’s journey toward energy independence.

President Mahama will also join a distinguished line-up of speakers, including Ghana’s Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor; Côte d'Ivoire’s Minister for Mines, Petroleum, and Energy, Sangafowa Coulibaly; and Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, among others.

Industry leaders from organisations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Africa Energy Chamber, the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the Africa Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will also be in attendance, making AETC 2025 a hub for dialogue on innovative financing models and strategic energy investments.

Emelia Akumah, Founder and President of AETC, hailed President Mahama’s participation as a defining moment for Africa’s energy revolution.

“His leadership and vision will be instrumental in shaping the next phase of Africa’s energy transformation. We are honored to have him deliver the keynote speech, setting the agenda for groundbreaking conversations and partnerships that will redefine Africa’s position in the global energy space,” she noted.
