President John Dramani Mahama has visited the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to commiserate with the injured victims of the tragic stampede that occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, during the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise at El-Wak Sports Stadium.
The visit comes after six people lost their lives in the stampede during the ongoing military recruitment exercise.

The president was accompanied by Chief Justice Julius Debrah, Acting Defence Minister Cassiel Ato Forson, and other government officials.
According to a statement from the Ghana Armed Forces, the tragedy occurred around 6:20 a.m. when a sudden surge of applicants breached security protocols and forced their way through the gates ahead of the scheduled screening.

The military has confirmed that 28 people were admitted to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment. Of these, six have died, five are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 12 remain in critical condition.
