Daasebre Agyei Dwamena, a morning show host of Movement TV and Wontumi Radio, has apologised to the leader and founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Dr. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, over comments he made against him.

Daasebre Agyei Dwamena, known for his affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had accused Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah of conniving with three top pastors in the country to sabotage the bid of NPP flagbearer for the 2024 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to him, the said meeting orchestrated by Owusu-Bempah and these pastors aimed at making Mahama president over Bawumia.

“We have a senior pastor in this country who claims that he will decide who becomes president, but the meeting that he had with Mahama and the other three pastors, we have it.

“They had the meeting at Archbishop Duncan-Williams' place. He, Rev. Owusu-Bempah, and the leader of Assemblies of God, Steve Wengam. The purpose of the meeting was that Owusu-Bempah should come out and deny all that he said about Bawumia and that he would never allow Bawumia to become president.

“But you, Owusu-Bempah, you cannot make anyone president in this country. It is not God who is speaking to you, it is the devil. All his problems stem from the envy of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng because the NPP has made him popular,” Daasebre Agyei Dwamena lamented.

His comment, however, angered a section of fellow prophets in the country, including Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, the founder and leader of the Lord's Parliament Chapel International, and Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel.

These prophets warned the NPP over such attacks on Owusu-Bempah and stated that the party would pay for its consequences.

However, speaking on his morning show on September 26, 2024, Daasebre Agyei Dwamena apologised to Owusu-Bempah, admitting that he had the wrong information.

“I will plead with the listeners and loved ones, including Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah. The nature of our work is about information, and to speak the truth, it is not all the time that you can verify the kind of information you receive before you talk about it. So, sometimes you go ahead and speak, but you might get it wrong or the other way around.

“And it will be difficult to betray those who give you information per the nature of our work. So, Rev. Owusu-Bempah, this morning, on the same platform where I made those allegations against you, I didn’t get my information right, and I went ahead to say that.

“I have wronged you, and I know you are hurt, so I am using this platform, Movement Television, and Wontumi Radio, to apologise to you. Forgive me, I didn’t get my information right,” he said.

Meanwhile, Owusu-Bempah, on the other hand, has denied such meetings or involvement with any other pastors to sabotage Bawumia.

"Yesterday, I heard about it, and some of my children shared the footage with me. It was discussed on a certain radio station that myself, Archbishop Duncan-Williams, and Rev. Wengam, the General Overseer of Assemblies of God, among other pastors, have met to plan against Bawumia.

“When I heard it, I was very surprised because we hadn’t done such a thing. Rev. Wengam, I have heard his name, but I haven’t even seen him before, and neither have I met him with the archbishop. They even said Mahama was part of the meeting, but we haven’t met before.

"The person claims to have audio stating that I have said I hate Victor Kusi Boateng because he has taken my shine, and as a result, I won’t agree for the Vice President to become president. I don’t envy Victor Kusi Boateng,” he said while speaking in an interview on Okay FM on September 10, 2024.

"Chairman Wontumi has called me, saying he heard someone say this on his station, Wontumi TV, so they will invite me to resolve the issue. But God is my witness, it is never true that we have plotted such a thing or met to discuss any issues.

"I am very pained that something I haven’t done or thought about is being spread around. The person spreading such rumours, if asked to prove it, cannot. Even Rev. Wengam, the head of Assemblies of God, I don’t even know him,” he added.
