Board Chairman for the Audit Service, Professor Dua Agyeman
The Board Chairman for the Audit Service, Professor Dua Agyeman has sued Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over his claims that he [Professor Agyeman] is dishonest, a thief and a trickster.
Professor Dua Agyeman from reliable information sued Mr Nketiah for tarnishing his hard won reputation. Mr Nketiah on Tuesday held a press conference to respond to the forensic audit that uncovered some procurement irregularities at the Ghana National Gas Company, amounting to a whopping US$137,861,127.15.
He accused Professor Dua Agyeman of forgery, tagging him as corrupt, and lacking integrity. He said: “Dua Agyeman, who, in 1983, was banned by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana from practicing accounting and auditing in Ghana, for forging an audit report for a private firm whose account he has neither seen or audited.”
“The person who has been appointed by Nana Akufo-Addo to chair the Audit Service Board, and who is being asked to recruit these private firms in the name of cabinet committee secretary, that’s his record,” Asiedu Nketiah said.
He added further alleged that “he’s the person who has now been recycled to chair the Audit Service Board by Nana Akufo-Addo to fight corruption.” But Professor Dua Agyeman has rubbished all the allegations and described them as frivolous.
