Black Stars striker , Asamoah Gyan
Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has stressed on the importance of getting paid as a professional footballer whilst recalling the events of the 2014 World Cup.
The senior national team players were bashed by the fans for their behaviour during the tournament. The team placed bottom in the group with just one point.
In an interview with Pulse Ghana, Gyan revealed that it was important for the professionals to get paid and hinted that the brouhaha came because of lack of payment.
"We are professional players; we need to be paid. In every profession, you need to get paid. For example, every professional when you are not paid you need to take your own decision."
