Lawyer for the owner of the Melcom building that collapsed some months ago, Samuel Atta Akyea says his client suspects the judge and prosecutor in the case might be up to some mischief and has thus petitioned the Chief Justice over the conduct of the judge handling the case.
Lawyer Atta Akyea told Citi News his client grew nervous when he found out that the prosecutor was in the office of the judge even before the case was presented.
“It came out clearly that the AMA prosecutor wasn’t a lawyer and he represented that he was a lawyer; that Twumasi Ankrah man,” Mr Atta Akyea lamented.
“Because of [the manner in which] my client perceived the behaviour of that AMA guy and the judge, he was not too comfortable. He has petitioned the Chief Justice and we are yet to hear from the CJ as to whether that particular judge should continue with the criminal trial,” he added.
