Nana Boakye, a communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said the law should take it cause on those visiting mayhem on National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters whiles jubilating over the victory of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He called on the police to also arrest those seizing public facilities with the excuse that it is their government which is in power, saying it is criminal.

The streets of Ghana went agog on Friday evening after the Electoral Commission declared flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the next president of the Republic of Ghana with a wild jubilation.

The NPP leadership in statement issued on Sunday December 11, 2016 and signed by John Boadu, Acting General Secretary condemned the actions and called on the police not to hesitate in taking action against the perpetrators.

Emphasizing on the position of the NPP, Nana Boakye while speaking on Metro TV on Monday morning stated that it is okay for people to jubilate but it is criminal for them to visit mayhem on other supporters because they lost.

According to him, he is keen on their arrest because “for all you know the perpetrators arte not NPP. They could be criminals who have gotten themselves the right opportunity to commit their act”.
