Cynthia Animaa Boadu, Ga Central Municipal Director of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), has revealed that the NCCE is under-resourced, and this has resulted in workers hiring taxis to perform their duties.

According to her, the government has blatantly refused to give the NCCE the resources and logistics including vehicles they need to do their work.

She told Ekourba Gyasi, host of TOP FM’s morning show on Monday, that this is hurting the smooth performance of their duties.

“We need to perform our duties by moving around the nation to educate Ghanaians on their civic rights and responsibilities but without cars how can we do that?” she quizzed.

“We hire taxis to do our work. Even as I was coming to your studio, I had to hire a taxi to come and educate Ghanaians on your network,” she told Ekourba Gyasi.

Adding “this is affecting our work so much.”

She appealed to government to provide them with vehicles, especially those strong enough to take them to far and difficult to reach areas in the country to work.
