In spite of the gloomy pictures painted about the management of the Ghanaian economy by the Akufo-Addo led administration, the president still remains steadfast in his achievements so far.

While delivering the State of Nation Address, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reiterated that the Ghanaian electorate in December 2016 reposed in him, trust and confidence to fix the then impoverished economy under the erstwhile administration.

The president said the economy he inherited has seen major transformation in all sectors including, education, agriculture, health and even in technology.

“I was not elected to complain, I was elected to get things done. I was elected to fix what's broken…We have fixed the broken economy,” the president boldly touted.

In an attempt to list some of the areas he has fixed he said; “I have fixed the broken economy, brought and fixed Free SHS, Agricultural sector, NHIS…we’re digitizing the economy, Industrial transformation and Ghana remains peaceful…Things in Ghana are working...”

This year’s State of the Nation Address is Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s fourth and last in his first term as president of the republic.

His address is in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.

The address is to update Ghanaians on the government’s progress and outline plans for the next financial year.

The president’s speech covered, in broad terms, areas such as the economy, education, health, security and infrastructure.
