Samuel Atta Akyea (L) and Ken Agyapong (R)
A former Minister of Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea, has dismissed claims by Kennedy Agyapong that the two met at Heathrow Airport, where he allegedly insulted former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Reacting to the allegation on December 17, 2025, in a UTV interview, Atta Akyea described it as false and challenged Agyapong to provide evidence to back his claim.
Atta Akyea once used filthy words on Akufo-Addo, so I'm not surprised - Ken Agyapong
“It is a lie and I’ve never met Kennedy Agyapong at Heathrow Airport to discuss Akufo-Addo,” he denied the allegation.
Atta Akyea, also a former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, added that if such a meeting had indeed taken place and was now being publicly disclosed, it would raise serious concerns about Agyapong’s judgment and discretion.
“In fact, if it is true that I even met him at Heathrow as he claims and I insulted Akufo-Addo and he has publicly disclosed it, it will confirm how loose of a cannon he is… this shows his character and he can’t even contain confidential exchanges,” he noted.
Atta Akyea further challenged Agyapong to substantiate his claim with travel records.
He also questioned the lack of specifics in Agyapong’s account, urging him to state the year the alleged meeting occurred, while insisting that no such encounter ever happened.
“He should bring his passport and compare to mine to show the date and time that was stamped, indicating we were at Heathrow Airport.
“It is a lie. I have never met him at the airport to discuss Akufo-Addo, he should mention the year he claims it happened… What is the evidential support for this nonsense?” he challenged.
What Kennedy Agyapong said:
Kennedy Agyapong, in a TikTok video sighted by GhanaWeb on Thursday, November 27, 2025, stated in a media interview that he would not retaliate against what he described as insults directed at his personality.
According to him, Samuel Atta Akyea had previously denigrated former President Akufo-Addo in his presence, and so he is not surprised at the insults now directed at him.
“He [Atta Akyea] insulted Akufo-Addo to me at Heathrow Airport that he wasn’t fit to be president but then Akufo-Addo went on to win. I was surprised he even took a ministerial appointment from him despite his insults.

“If he insults me, I’m nobody and I won’t respond because he used the same filthy words to describe Akufo-Addo to me. If he has conscience, he should remember the things he told me at Heathrow Airport. I never mentioned those things to Akufo-Addo because if I had, he wouldn’t have made him a minister,” Agyapong disclosed.
