Shut up! You don’t provide me with oxygen to talk – Ken Agyepong to critics

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong has taken a swipe at critics, particularly persons who have continuously criticized him for “talking too much”, telling them to shut up.

According to him, he is not perturbed nor threatened by these comments because the persons complaining are not responsible for the breath he uses.

“Those people who say I talk too much cannot stop me because they don’t provide me with oxygen to breathe,” he said. “I will speak until I die.”

Speaking on Accra-based Oman FM, on the back of reports suggesting that he had been invited by the CID to substantiate corruption allegations against some unnamed presidential staffers, Mr. Agyepong denied the reports, indicating that no one had invited him nor has he lodged any complaint with the police.

“Nobody has called me to come to the police station; I am not a thief or have lodged a complaint with the police?….even if they call me I won’t go. I will even go and take my evidence from the police”

He also denied having made any bribery allegations against Communications Minister, Ursula Ekuful, or any other government official for that matter, adding that he is sure to deal with the police if they are not careful.

“I have never given any evidence against Ursula that she has taken bribe; I have never given any evidence against Asenso or Abu Jinapor so who is saying this? If the police are not careful, the way I will treat them, they will regret. I believe the police are setting their own agenda because they were even asking me if I have any information on Abu. Nobody has invited me”, he stressed.

Mr Agyepong last week accused unnamed staffer at the Flagstaff House which is the seat of government of demanding Twenty Thousand Dollars from an unnamed investor before allowing the person to see President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He was reported to have appealed to President Akufo-Addo and the National Security to immediately investigate corruption accusations made against the Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye and his other colleague, Abu Jinapor by musician A-Plus.

“Abu Jinapor and Asenso-Boakye are not the only two alleged to be involved in corrupt activities at the presidency, there are many others as well. When I started complaining about the president being surrounded by sycophants and corrupt people I had people calling me to stop making those allegations" he was quoted to have said.

The legislator also claimed that his sources revealed that some $20,000 was demanded from them by persons at the presidency, for an arranged meeting with the president when they sought access to the president.
