The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth wing seem to have a divided front on the imminent demonstration set to be embarked on this week against the ruling government.

Some youth organizers of the party have vowed to withdraw their participation in the planned demonstration against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the unjustified seizure of vehicles of NDC officials and functionaries.

The angry youth organizers say Sidi Abubarkar has no justification to mobilize the grassroot for the protest when he’s part of the bigger problem why NDC has been kicked out of government.

Interacting with Anopa Kasapa Morning Show host Fiifi Banson on Kasapa 102.5 FM, the NDC Youth Organizer of the Fanteakwa South constituency, Mark Okraku argued that it was absurd to believe that Sidi who once complained of being sidelined during the campaign time could get resources all of a sudden to mobilize youth in protest against the NPP administration.

“We don’t support him because he was a liability during the electioneering period. What is the point any way for holding such demonstration when the former President and the National Chairman have come out to condemn the issue. Is it so necessary? He questioned.

He continued:” Most of our people [youth] are still locked up in their rooms and starving after the elections. It is a real problem for most of the youth having toiled all this while for them to be disappointed by an ineffective Youth leader in elections when he was supposed to mobilize us then for serious campaign to win elections”

According to Okraku, they’re ready to embark on any demonstration should it be sanctioned by other national executives apart from the current Nation Youth Organizer, Sidi Abubakar.

Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Koku Anyidoho said the party leadership is aware of the planned demonstration and fully supports the action by the youth.
