The former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John has thrown his support behind his successor Kwabena Agyepong and embattled National Chairman Paul Afoko.
According to Sir John, despite the controversies surrounding Afoko and Agyepong, they are doing very well for the party.
He added that the duo are bent on ensuring that the NPP wrestles power from the governing NDC to rescue Ghanaians from the suffering being inflicted on them.
“I am happy because Paul and Kwabena have done a very good job...but you know as humans they may get one or two things wrong.
"But I want to see the bright side of things, I want to see the positives they bring,” Sir John told host of Morning Starr Nii Arday Clegg Friday on Starr 103.5FM.
Afoko and Agyepong have been at the centre of raging controversy within the opposition party.
The two executives are under intense pressure to throw in the towel over the several internal wrangling in the Elephant party.
Last week it was revealed that a letter by the NPP Council of Elders requesting the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko to step aside was signed by only five members of the council out of the 30.
