Snakes have taken over the abandoned Community Day School built by the erstwhile Mahama administration at Fumso in the Adansi Asokwa District of the Ashanti Region.

The school forms part of the 200 community day schools which were being constructed under the Mahama administration across the country.

The roofed E-Block however, has been abandoned by the contractor who’s said to have run out of funds to complete the project.

Abusua Fm’s Osei Kwadwo who is following the development reported that there is no worker at the construction as the school was abandoned just after the 2016 general elections.

Residents of Fumso in an interview expressed their disappointment in the Nana Addo’s government for failing to continue work on the Community Day School in the district.

The Residents are worried they cannot bear the cost of enrolling their wards in distant Senior High Schools and want government to speedily release funds to complete the Community Day School in the District.

“The stalled Community Day School has affected education of several children who have completed Junior High School in some communities who were to benefit from the project.

“Though there is Free SHS policy implemented by Nana Addo administration the cost of the items on the prospectus and the provisions that come with boarding make it difficult for us to send our children to Senior High Schools”.one resident said.

Assembly member of the Fumso Electoral Area, Austin Danso called on government to complete the abandoned E-Block Project in the community. Hon Danso disclosed that earlier attempts to engage the government to finish work on the Fumso Community Day Senior High School (SHS) which is about 80 per cent complete proved futile.

“It very disheartening that the project has been stalled and students are struggling to have access to education.

“The completion will boost education system in the Fumso Community. Parents are complaining that they can’t take their children to distant school because of the cost involved making it a burden when the Fumso Children complete Junior High School” he said.
