Anger, disappointment, grief; a mix bag of reactions are coming from social media users following an announcement from the police service, confirming the demise of some four girls who were kidnapped in December last year.
The reactions stem from a number of issues, but mostly about how the entire situation was handled by the Police from the beginning.
The information was reported and emerged on various media platforms, there were assurances from the police service, Security Ministers and subsequently CID Boss, Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah.
From her end, she was confident that the works of the police will ensure that the kidnapped girls, whose whereabouts had been discovered, will be rescued and brought home safely.
Suspects in connection with the issue were arrested, including one Samuel Willis Udutoek, the key suspect.
Not too long after, there was news about a new discovery on the subject; some skeletal remains had been found in a septic tank at the residence of the main suspect. DNA tests were acquired from the families by the police to confirm the suspicions following the retrieval.
The final straw that broke the camel’s back was an announcement by the Acting Inspector General, James Oppong Boanuh, at a press briefing Monday, confirming that the remains were that of Ruth Abakah, Priscilla Kuranchie, Ruth Love Quayson, and Priscilla Blessing Bentum.
.
There’s a lot of consolation messages pouring for the families but more importantly, many others want the ‘head’ of CID Boss, Miss Tiwaa Addo Danquah; to express the weight of their anger, the hashtag, # TiwaaMustGo is trending at number one on twitter.
Here’s a compilation of reactions from Ghanaians on social media as monitored by Ghanaweb
This is just heart breaking. For the life of me i simply cannot fathom how the CID Boss is still at post!

@benkoku the song for the Tadi girls you are playing is making tears flow from eyes. My day gone bad, my patriotic spirit crushed, and my heart bleeds. We don't have a country to love and die. We are only valued by during electioneering periods #CitiCBS #BringBackOurTaadiGirls

Too many people in leadership positions in Ghana know NOTHING about what being a leader means. They don’t understand the integrity, respect and honour that comes with STEPPING down when they’ve failed. #TiwaaMustGo

At this point all the pastors and “men of God” have gone to sleep. They didn’t see this coming. God never spoke or revealed anything to them and now they are dead, the god they worshipmust be asleep. #JoySMS #CitiCBS #BringBackOurTaadiGirls #TiwaaMustGo

#BringBackOurTaadiGirls: Upon all the emotional and psychological trauma the families went through, it had to end on this sad note?

We wouldn't be mourning if those at the helm had reacted swiftly. Never again should we do this to ourselves. RIP Girls! #JoyNews #JoySMS #AmShow pic.twitter.com/Vse2caj4t6
What have we benefited from Ghana's disciplinary institutions? As if it is a credible place to go. Her actions was uncalled for especially when she has such an office. Mother's instincts? Conscience? #JoySMS #TiwaaMustGo

The CID boss is so grossly incompetent, unprofessional n a typical eg. of a square peg in a round hole.. if it had not been politics and nepotism she will be no near to the cubicle of the CID office to even become its Boss. #TiwaaMustGo #JoySMS https://t.co/VvbDgB8Kc6
