Many have called for prayers including President John Mahama for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to end their internal wranglings but the NPP Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Ken Agyapong says the ruling NDC is behind the unending squabbles.
President John Dramani Mahama is rallying supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to pray for their arch-rivals, the NPP; which has been enduring protracted internal wrangling.
Subtly attacking the opposition party for its internecine bickerings, the president said there was no room for acid attacks on fellow party people in the 21st-century politics.
He was alluding to the acid attack that claimed the life of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Adam Mahama earlier this year.
Referring to a more recent happening, Prez Mahama also said the stabbing to death of NPP supporter Saddiq Abubakar at Asawase in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, equally has no place in Ghanaian politics.
Responding to the president’s veiled attack on the NPP, Hon. Ken Agyapong said the goings-on in the NPP is orchestrated by the ruling NDC.
To him, the president was being sarcastic with his prayer request.
He bemoaned how unfortunate his party members cannot contain their anger as compared to the ability of the ruling NDC to manage their internal wrangling perfectly; asserting that there is a deep crack in the NDC but they are able to manage the anger well.
“...you have no idea how angry some party members are at you because of your brother Ibrahim who now gives employment in this country,” the Assin Central MP replied President Mahama.
