Students of the University of Education have started packing out of their respective campuses following a Winneba High Court ruling closing down the institution.

Reports received by mynewsgh.com revealed that students resident on various campuses have started vacating their hostels following the latest directive which is likely to affect the academic calendar of the school which has other campuses in Kumasi and Mampong all in the Ashanti Region.

Meanwhile, authorities of the University say they will challenge the order of the Winneba High Court to shut down its campuses in the country.

“We also have evidence to prove otherwise on Friday” Public Relations Officer of the institution, Dr. C.Y. Akwaa Mensah told Evans Mensah on Top Story shortly after the order by the court adding “we will adhere to the ruling”.

The court Monday June 13, 2017 granted an injunction by a former Assemblyman Kofi Kwayere who argued the legality of the University’s Council.

The University in a press release has directed it satellite campuses in Kumasi, Ajumako, Mampong and Winneba be closed down until the hearing of the substantive case.
