The mother of Priscilla Blessing Bentum, one of the dead Takoradi girls has threatened to commit suicide if the husband goes ahead to accept the DNA results that confirm her daughter is dead.

According to the woman, she is still hopeful Priscilla will be found and therefore it is not possible the remains the DNA was conducted on leading to the current results are those of her daughter who has gone missing for over a year now.

Two families out of the four, are currently in a battle with the police over the results refusing to accept and suspecting the security agencies are up to mischief.

Families of Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Ruthlove Quayson are contemplating on conducting a second opinion to ascertain or otherwise what has been put out by the police.

The girls — Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18; Ruth Love Quayson 18, and Ruth Abeka – were victims of a kidnapping and murdering syndicate in the Takoradi area, police have said.

The Acting Inspector of General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh, said at a press conference a week ago that the results of the DNA test on remains retrieved in Takoradi have been relayed to the families along with condolences.

But Comfort Arhin, the mother of Ruthlove Quayson insists that they will pressure the Director General of Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs) until she produces the girls alive.

She also justified her decision to ignore a call from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to console her when news emerged the girls were indeed dead.

Why now? The issue happened long ago, and all this while he didn’t feel the need to talk to us. He was even in the region quite recently, went to Axim but he failed to stop by and pay us a visit”, she observed.
