Host of Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Randy Abbey, queried National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker Sam George over an allegation he peddled on the May 16, 2024 edition of the programme.
The Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament expressly accused the Electoral Commission of scheming to reduce the number of registrants in his area in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
He specifically mentioned Samuel Tetteh, the EC's deputy commissioner in charge of operations as ordering that registration kits for Ningo Prampram be reduced to two from an initial three.
Sam George said the EC's official in his area confirmed that the reduction of registration kits was an order from above and that the MP could call Samuel Tetteh at the EC for further details.
Randy intervened with a series of questions on what steps Sam George took to verify the veracity of the report he had received.
Randy: Did you call Samuel Tetteh?
Sam George: Why should I call him?
Randy: But that is not fair.
Sam George: Did Samuel Tetteh call me and call the NPP candidate before sitting in Accra and deciding that we didn't deserve three machines in Ningo Prampram?
Randy: What if the District Director was lying to you?
Sam George: What purpose does it serve?
After the issue dragged for a while, Randy asked that his team calls the EC official for clarification on the said allegation.
