Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Junior is advising delegates not to fall prey to sweet and outrageous promises by aspiring Parliamentarians of the New Patriotic Party, saying “they are lying, they cannot do it”

“There are some people, they have sweet words, I’ve heard some before…I will construct roads, schools, hospitals etc. But does MP construct roads? How much money do you have that you can construct roads?

“If you are not lucky to get a minister/s who likes you- fine; but they are lying they cannot do it. But if they vote for you, some of them will be running away from the constituencies because they cannot do anything, so they will always be dodging the delegates/executives, why should the delegates vote for you?”, he spoke on Peace FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com

“Another one that has come is when they vote for him/her, they will never set foot in the constituency office. Because they claim when they go there, the [delegates] will be creating problems for them. But if you don’t want them to worry you, then why will you ask them to vote for you.

“Since you are representing them, they will worry you. It is part of the job”, said Mr. Pratt.

“In summary, the primaries that is going to take place is to elect someone (MP) who will be your representative for four years; if you like, go and collect 5,000 cedis and sell your future.

The monies being shared; I’ve not heard 5,000 cedis being shared. I’ve rather heard 1000 cedis but the one that has gone up is in the Ashanti region where a brother gave 1500 cedis to delegates. Let’s be careful and vote wisely because tomorrow is not yours.” He said.
