Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Focus FM is disgusted by the Ministry of Information’s failure to properly recognize them as among the media organizations that gave coverage to the Vice President’s Tuesday Town Hall Meeting on their campus.

The Ministry of Information, in a social media post, mentioned about 16 radio and television stations that were giving live coverage to the Town Hall Meeting.

The sixteen are GTV, Metro TV, NET 2 TV, Oman FM, Citi TV, Kessben TV, JoyNews TV, Joy FM, Asempa, Citi FM, Kessben FM, Hello FM, Otec FM, Ashh FM, Pure FM, and Angel FM.

Although the Ministry of Information gave an indication that there were more media organizations that were not mentioned in its list, Focus FM says it deserved better than being recognized among the ‘et cetera’ category.

Replying to the post, Focus FM described the action by the Ministry as a clear show of disrespect to them as the “official KNUST radio station and TV.”

Focus FM mentioned that even GTV, which is state-owned and was recognized for giving coverage to the event, was picking its feed from TEK TV, which is owned by the University.

This is clearly a disrespect to us as the official KNUST radio station and TV (@focusfmknust and @tektvgh )

Even GTV is picking the feed from TEK TV, Focus FM is transmitting live on radio yet you failed to recognize us. Kindly recognize us. THANK YOU @moigovgh@univers1057fm https://t.co/nvoh5ScPou

Others persons who were following the event equally slammed the Information Ministry for failing to give credit to Focus FM for their efforts.

And the campus media house both TV and radio who helped make it a success never got even whispered in a mic what a wow
