The lifeless body of a 5-year-old boy has be found in flood waters, in the Volta regional capital, Ho.

This was after 2-hours of torrential rains Friday afternoon overrun major storm drains in the town, flooding immediate suburbs along the stretch.

The boy, identified as Nicholas Attah, was retrieved in a drain near the Ho Polyclinic, off the Kpetoe road, a distance of about a kilometre from the Goil-down suburb, where he was reportedly carried away by the flush floods.

Mr. Divine Bosson, Volta Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) confirming the incident to Starr News, said the boy’s body which was retrieved with the assistance of the personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service, has been deposited at the Regional hospital morgue.

He indicated that in addition to the Polyclinic area, other places heavily flooded the during downpour include, Civic centre -YMCA, Dome-Barracks bridge, Ho- Tsiyikpota, among others.

The situation, according to Mr. Bosson, also resulted in a temporary hold up in vehicular movement along the Ho-Kpetoe road as the flood waters took over that sections of the road.

However, the Regional NADMO chief, after an assessment tour of the affected areas, said the flood waters have since subsided considerably.
