UNIMAC postpones commencement of 2024/25 Academic Year as strike by unions bites

The management of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) has postponed the reopening date for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.

The announcement, contained in a press release dated September 26, 2024, noted that the postponement is in response to the ongoing strike by some tertiary unions, including the Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG), the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), over their working conditions.

The management said it will communicate a revised date for the commencement of the academic year, initially scheduled for September 30, 2024, after the strike is resolved.
